The Small Business Council of America, a national nonprofit organization, presented its 33rd Annual Congressional awards. The Mort Harris Small Business Person of the Year award was presented to Troy Guard of Denver. Guard opened his first restaurant, TAG, in 2009 and now employs over 400 at his multiple restaurants in the Denver area.
“Not only does Troy embody the entrepreneurial spirit and commitment that this award is meant to recognize, he has given so much back to the Colorado community through his work with charities and mentorship to other small businesses. It was truly an honor to present him this award,” said Shawn McIntire, attorney at Ballard Spahr and grandson of award’s namesake and SBCA founder.
