Joe's Cable Car Saves $20,000 Annually Using Handheld Technology In 2009 after being featured on the well-known Food Network series, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, traffic at Joe's Cable Car exploded with new customers eager to taste Joe Obegi's cooking. "We had eight servers running around, and it was just chaos," Joe says, "Every minute counts, and my servers had to review orders twice. Once at the table, and once at the terminal." With capacity to only seat 70 diners, Joe knew he needed to find a new technology solution that would help him both decrease the number of servers on the floor and increase table turns and profits. New Features Available in Aloha Products! Aloha Insight (above-store reporting): Check Detail Viewer - Aloha POS check level detail can now be viewed through Aloha Insight. The user is able to view a list of guest checks by store for a business date. The checks can also be filtered by time range. This allows the user to target a specific guest check and display/print the Aloha POS check detail via Aloha Insight. Manager Log Book - Users can now utilize the Manager Log Book to view current day, last year, week to date and last year week to date, plus variance values for up to 10 line items, for a store. Break Violation Data - If you are using replication, you can now query break validation data from the Aloha Insight database for Aloha POS versions 6.4 and higher. Aloha Loyalty (loyalty program application): SmartRewards - This is now an independent module and is no longer a bonus plan type. Functionality includes the ability to expire a reward, reset a reward a specific number of times, define multiple qualifying metrics for a single reward and much more. The ability to import a list of qualifying members is still supported. Qualify merit by member profile response - Users can now qualify merit for a Bonus Plan by a specific pre-defined value for a selected custom field. E.g., Customers are asked to answer a custom question you have entered stating "What is your favorite entree?" with one of three answers: steak, chicken or fish. You can qualify merit for a Bonus Plan to apply only to those customers that choose fish.
Aloha Loyalty Web Service until now only provided Aloha Loyalty card information. It now supports the ability to retrieve the balance of an Aloha Stored Value card. Aloha Stored Value (gift card application): Update Expiration and Service Charge options - The current expiration options in Aloha Stored Value - Card Setup allow for settings that are not compliant with the Gift Card amendments outlined in the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility, and Disclosure (CARD) Act of 2009. The Card Setup module has been enhanced such that a service charge cannot be applied earlier than one year and the expiration date to be more than 5 years based on the date of the last deposit record.
