BEC
Business Equipment Consultants (BEC) was
founded in 1971 to sell and service the electronic
calculator, which at the time was a new technology
replacing the time tested, but out-dated “adding
machine”.
The company was incorporated in the State
of Colorado under the name of Electronic Calculators,
Ltd., and has done business as Business Equipment
Consultants since 1974.
Beginning in 1979, BEC began a gradual
expansion of its product lines, adding Electronic
Typewriters and Electronic Cash Registers. We began
marketing computer-based POS systems in the late 1980’s,
and by 1991 specialized in the hospitality industry.
Our philosophy
among all our product lines is consistent: An emphasis
on outside sales, account servicing and a desire to
maintain long-lasting relationships with our valuable clients.
To this end, we have been conservative about adding
products or vendors until we knew we could adequately
market and service them, while making sure we had room
for expansion in the future.
